Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi delved into the scriptures to train his guns at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled Centre. Addressing an event in Champaran, Bihar, to mark 100 years of the civil disobedience movement launched by Mahatma Gandhi against the British rule, he said the Gita and the Upanishads say a true Hindu is one who protects the truth. Gandhi, he said, removed fear from the hearts and minds of the people who were tormented by the British. Taking a dig at the BJP who he has accused of playing divisive politics, Gandhi said that people would not tolerate those who spread hatred.
