On Wednesday, US Secretary of State John Kerry's scheduled visit to three religious sites of Delhi had to be cancelled because of heavy rains in the city, the subsequent waterlogging and traffic jams. Kerry reached the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi campus for an interaction with students nearly 40 minutes late. "You guys deserve an award for being able to get here today. I don't know if you came in boats or amphibious vehicles of some kind. But I salute you," a smiling Kerry told the packed hall. On Monday, Kerry's convoy was caught in a traffic jam while travelling from the Delhi airport to his hotel. Kerry's visits to the Sis Ganj gurdwara, Gauri Shankar temple and the Jama Masjid had to be cancelled.
