Over the weekend, the Congress asked why Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy, who is not a minister, had been granted Z category security and a bungalow in Lutyens Zone. Swamy, whose complaint about alleged financial wrongdoing in The National Herald led Congress President Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi to make a court appearance on Saturday to seek bail, explained that his Z category security was merely "restored" on Friday. He reminded the Congress that he was granted Z category security by the Congress government of P V Narasimha Rao in the 1990s, but this was curtailed under the United Progressive Alliance's regime. "Now I don't know if they (Congress) think Narasimha Rao was a BJP man," he said.
