It is a kind of camaraderie not seen often between political rivals. It appears that the new Minister for Environment and Forests Prakash Javadekar and one of his predecessors, Jairam Ramesh, share a cordial relationship. During his stint as the environment minister in the United Progressive Alliance regime, Ramesh was the moving force behind the new "green" building that houses the ministry. Ramesh offered to show Javadekar around the new building when the latter prepared to take over his new ministerial portfolio. Javadekar was generous enough to take up Ramesh on the offer. In fact, when Javadekar landed at the ministry one early June morning, Ramesh was already there to show him around.
