Prime Minister Narendra Modi never misses an opportunity to push his 'Make in India' project. So, while addressing bankers in Mumbai yesterday to mark the completion of 80 years by the Reserve Bank of India, Modi threw a question at the audience: why should we have a picture of Mahatma Gandhi - who championed swadeshi or the use of locally-made products - on bank notes printed on imported paper, with imported ink? What Modi did not say was that a new facility to produce paper, ink and other things that go into the making of bank notes was being set up, which he is scheduled to inaugurate in six months.
