Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah was re-elected for a three-year term on Sunday. His re-election has also led to party leaders praising Shah for his leadership qualities, some of which were less known but are being discovered of late. BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi on Monday recounted how Shah, as a student leader in Gujarat, was devoted to the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). Shah cut his teeth on politics working for the ABVP, which is the students' wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. According to Trivedi, when Shah took out an insurance policy the insurance agent asked him to appoint a nominee. Shah made ABVP the nominee and persisted with the insurance agent that since he owed everything to the ABVP the nominee should also be the organisation.
