Ajay Maken, former Union minister and current Delhi Congress chief, is a happy man. He is being credited with scripting the party's return in the national capital, signified by the municipal corporation bypoll results.
The Congress, which had been decimated by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the 2015 Assembly polls, succeeded in winning five of the 13 municipal wards, while AAP, which was slated to sweep the polls, managed five.
An ebullient Maken tweeted, "Congress is no 1". Taking a dig at the ruling AAP, he commented that even the ad blitz could not save the party and that soon it would meet the same fate as the Bharatiya Janata Party and its much hyped India Shining campaign.
