The disinvestment process is truly under way in India with the unspoken backing of the majority of Indians who are fed up with the corruption and inefficiency that characterises most government enterprises.
The momentum of the process has brought in its wake its share of issues that the leadership has to address, as the stakes get bigger. One such issue is that of allowing golden shares to the government in disinvested companies. The issue needs to be looked in its entirety.
