Petroleum minister M Veerappa Moily's recently sent out a circular requesting ministry and oil company officials to follow his example and take public transport to work as a fuel conservation measure. Although many have complied - and some have taken it further by cycling to work - others are probably not following the spirit of the diktat to the full. Realising this, Moily took a dig at one of his officials whom he met at the gate of Central Secretariat metro station on his way out. "Did you take a car to the metro station or what?" Moily asked him sarcastically.
