Odisha seems to be taking some interesting steps to drill civic sense into people. Close on the heels of the enforcement of a no-helmet-no-fuel rule across the state comes the news that a hospital in Bhubaneswar plans to penalise spitters. Starting this week, the hospital will impose a fine of Rs 50 on anyone found spitting on its premises. The hospital authority's decision was aimed at deterring attendants of patients from making the premises dirty and unhygienic. However, the rule would apply on the hospital premises only, the authority clarified.
