As expected, the World Economic Forum on India has a slate of heavyweight participants lined up from the worlds of global finance, business, social entrepreneurship and politics. Given the rising participation of women in the white-collar workforce, it is probably appropriate that it has organised a session on India’s “missing women”, referring to the rampant practice of female foeticide. It is worth wondering, however, how much depth this discussion will reach since the moderator for it is India’s ultra-mega superstar Amitabh Bachchan.
