Abdulla Bin Hamad Al- Attiyah, Qatar’s deputy premier and minister of energy and industry, who is in New Delhi to attend the Asia Gas Partnership Summit, surprised many when he began by saying he’d visited Delhi several times but this was the first time that he could actually see the stars. This turned out to be a smart marketing gimmick — the minister was pointing to the improved quality of air after Delhi switched to using CNG for buses, taxis and auto-rickshaws. Oh yes, Qatar supplies 7.5 million tonnes of natural gas annually to India and is looking to supply more.
