After the army's "surgical strikes" against India's western neighbour, the ire against Pakistan has spilled over to China, or more specifically the goods that it manufactures. On Sunday, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) said, "China's indifferent attitude in siding with Pakistan has caused gross resentment among the people of India, which is evident from the fact that a large number of messages circulating on social media, particularly on Whatsapp and Facebook, asking people to not use Chinese crackers, decorative lighting and other products during the festive season, has gained much momentum." CAIT has appealed to traders to sell Indian goods this Diwali and show that, like the armed forces, the trading community too is competent enough to launch an economic war against any country that goes against the interests of India. Also, Mumbai-based Patanjali Yog Samiti issued a statement on Monday calling a rally on October 22 in the city to demand boycott of Chinese manufacturers.
