The issue has moved from the periphery to the centre stage within barely a year for several reasons.
First, the nature of those who are protesting because they see their jobs migrating rather quickly. It is no longer lower level technicians but engineers and MBAs who feel threatened.
Second, the backlash is far more visible today because the US media is playing it up. They are doing so because highly articulate people have begun to argue against offshoring.
