At a press conference last week, Fortis Healthcare CEO Bhavdeep Singh faced a volley of questions from a reporter even before he could start his presentation. The questions related to "unnecessary" surgeries performed at many hospitals. Observing that the questioning was taking an inordinately long time, members of Fortis' communications team interrupted the reporter and requested him to save his queries for the post-presentation session. Much to the consternation of the host - and the amusement of the other journalists present - the reporter, with utmost seriousness, told Singh: "You have kept bouncers here to stop reporters. This is a case of intolerance. I have the right to ask questions and you have to answer them."
