For obvious reasons, businessmen, especially those associated with industry chambers are usually cautious about making even mildly critical comments about politicians. Rajan Bharti Mittal, president of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci), and vice-chairman and managing director of Bharti Enterprises, proved a rare exception. Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sushma Swaraj made a longish speech strongly criticising the ruling United Progressive Alliance at the Ficci AGM last week. In a session that followed in the evening Mittal said, “Usually the leader of Opposition is candid, but Sushma Swaraj was more than candid.”
