Ficci Secretary General Amit Mitra found himself in a difficult situation last week — caught between two women. While Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee urged Mitra to join the electoral fray in West Bengal, Mitra’s wife was more concerned about the effect of electioneering and the rough and tumble of politics on Mitra’s health. Knowing well that Mitra will probably win the election and become a minister in Kolkata, his wife was not sure if this was a good idea. But Mitra’s loyalty to West Bengal and Banerjee scored and he chose to enter the fray!
