Union Information and Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu is a stickler for rules. After enforcing a strict regime of discipline for his staff in the urban development ministry, the minster is doing something similar at the information and broadcasting ministry.
In a recent internal communication, Naidu has warned that officers and staff members who are absent during designated hours or arrive late for work repeatedly will have to forgo a day's casual or earned leave.
Disciplinary action could also be initiated against repeat offenders. In his previous ministry also Naidu was known to conduct surprise checks and raids to keep his staff members on their toes.
