A clear shift in the strategy of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) became visible as the second phase of polling for the Bihar Assembly got underway. The party has started highlighting the faces of state leaders such as former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi, state party chief Mangal Pandey and former state health minister Ashwini Choubey, in its hoardings around the state. Some posters also have the faces of allies Ram Vilas Paswan, chief of Lok Janshakti Party, and Upendra Kushwaha of the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party. Could this be a move to counter the claims of the Janata Parivar Alliance that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance lacks local faces?
