Among the initial policy decisions taken by the Trinamool Congress after it came to power in West Bengal is to open a restaurant at Banga Bhawan, the state guest house in New Delhi. Mamata Banerjee has never visited Banga Bhawan because it was run by the Left Front government but she has heard complaints about its ill-managed canteen. Ratan Mukherjee, currently her additional private secretary, is likely to have an office at Banga Bhawan and he has received Banerjee’s approval to bring new cooks and get a reputed catering house to run a restaurant there.
