The controversy over Vadra and his financial dealings has spawned a whole series of SMS jokes at the expense of the ruling United Progressive Alliance (UPA). One goes like this: the UPA’s roll of honour is being read out by Congress scion Rahul Gandhi with its achievements being “2G, CWG, CoalG (gate) and now ‘jijaji’ (brother-in-law).” The Opposition BJP, always on the lookout for any material to take a dig at the UPA, soon appropriated this as its own, albeit with a twist. BJP senior leader Ravi Shankar Prasad attacked Congress President Sonia Gandhi listing the UPA’s series of scams, clinching it with “2G, CWG, CoalG and now ‘damadji’,’’ he said.
