Bihar's ruling Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)] has released a booklet, Dalit Virodhi Bhajpa (Anti-Dalit BJP), which highlights what Jitan Ram Manjhi, national president of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) and an ally of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), had said about the BJP and what BJP leaders had said about him when he was chief minister and belonged to the JD(U). Among the comments BJP leaders issued against Manjhi, 28 are by former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi, 12 by senior BJP leader Nand Kishore Yadav and four by BJP state unit president Mangal Pandey. There are 19 comments that Manjhi made against the BJP. In August 2014, he had said: "BJP is a divisive party, out to divide the country." In November 2014, Sushil Modi had urged, "(A) case of fraud should be registered against Manjhi as he intentionally made his family member his personal assistant."
