Many parliamentarians had assembled in the central hall of Parliament on Sunday to pay tribute to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her death anniversary. Among all those present, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal was seen scrutinising the area. Asked why, Bansal explained that he had been reading newspaper reports about the many changes to the central hall ahead of Obama’s visit and was wondering whether he would be able to recognise the place or not. His verdict was that things looked the same. Later, some officials took pains to point out the new decorations and renovations that have been made in readiness for Obama’s address to a joint session of Parliament on November 8.
