With the government yet to form a team of interlocutors for Jammu & Kashmir, speculation has been rife on who will captain the team. CPI(M) Politburo member Sitaram Yechury’s name had been doing the rounds for some time, but Yechury admitted he “hasn’t heard anything like that from anyone”. A few days ago, some journalists asked Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh — who handles the party’s operations in Uttar Pradesh — if he was going to lead the team. An amused Singh quipped: “ As I have visited Kashmir only twice in my life. I don’t think I am the right person for the job.”
