Speculation is rife in Jharkhand that the reason former Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha did not contest from his pocket borough, Hazaribagh parliamentary constituency, had nothing to do with his health. Party workers say he is eyeing a chief ministerial berth in the state where Assembly elections are due in October-November. Besides, he found it opportune to launch his son Jayant, into politics at this point. That's because Jayant is considered closer to the Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, unlike Sinha senior.
