Just before the press conference to announce the IPO of Jaypee Infratech was to end, Jaypee Group founder Jaiprakash Gaur announced that in one of the cities that he was building on the Yamuna Expressway, he could plan an affordable housing complex for all Delhi-based journalists. He said: “Agar Delhi waale saare journalists log chahe to hum unke liye in cities me ek affordable housing complex bana sakte hain.” No journalist present protested the obvious implications of the offer.
