The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday expelled its rebellious Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA), Vinod Kumar Binny, on charges of making false statements against the party. The AAP had formed a disciplinary committee a week ago after Binny had accused the party of deviating from its principles. "The disciplinary committee has decided to expel Binny and terminate his primary membership from the party for publicly making false statements against the party and its leadership, thereby bringing disrepute to the party. A letter to the same end has been issued to him," said the party in a statement. The committee was headed by party's national secretary Pankaj Gupta. Other members included party leaders Yogendra Yadav, Ashish Talwar, Ilyas Azmi, and Gopal Rai. Binny, an MLA from Laxmi Nagar constituency, had attacked the party saying it is deviating from its promises.
