A day after the state BJP leadership claimed that the entire Bengal unit of AAP had merged with the party, the AAP unit here today termed the claim as "baseless and politically motivated".

"The claim by BJP state president Rahul Sinha is totally baseless and politically motivated. The AAP Bengal unit is intact and no such merger has taken place. Maybe a few supporters have joined BJP, but that doesn't mean merger," state AAP leader Prince said.

Sinha had yesterday claimed that the entire state unit of AAP had merged with his party.

Former AAP leader Amit Kumar, who yesterday joined BJP has claimed that BJP was the only platform in the state to fight for the people's cause.
