Addressing mediapersons in Chandigarh, Prof Yogendra Yadav, AAP leader and member of its national executive and political affairs committee, said, “People, especially volunteers, from Haryana had played an important role in the Delhi elections. The state is facing a similar situation like that of Delhi. The ruling party is involved in corrupt practices, so do the opposition, as all the four prominent parties are silent on vital issues, indicating that they do have vested interests. They are all working hand in glove with the corrupt. In the absence of any viable alternative, Haryana’s voters swing from one party to another in elections. There is a political vacuum. AAP, after its good performance in Delhi, is seen as a ray of hope. We are getting overwhelming response from the people, as over 100,000 people from Haryana have enrolled themselves as AAP members.”
The AAP leader added, “ We are going to contest elections mainly on four vital issues. First, jobs are on sale in Haryana, there is no transparency in government recruitments; bribe is rampant in recruitment process irrespective of the posts. We will implement a transparent system based on merit. Second, there has been large cases of irregularities in granting CLU (change in land use), colony licences and land acquisition. We will ensure that the interest of farmers should be taken care of during acquisition.”
