Adityanath allocates portfolios, retains 36 depts with himself

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Adityanath Yogi today distributed ministerial portfolios among his council of ministers, three days after taking oath of office on Sunday in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah.

Yogi has retained 36 key ministries under him, including the portfolios of home, housing and urban planning, revenue, food and civil supplies etc. His predecessor Akhilesh Yadav also had about three dozen key ministries under him, as has been the convention under different party regimes.

Meanwhile, deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya has been allocated public works, food processing, entertainment tax and public enterprises departments.

Another deputy CM Dinesh Sharma has been allocated secondary and higher education, science and technology, electronics and information technology departments.

Besides, Yogi and the two deputy CMs, 22 cabinet ministers, 9 ministers of state (independent charge) and 13 ministers of state have also been allocated portfolios.

Lone Muslim face in UP council of ministers, Mohsin Raza, gets Science and Technology, Electronics, IT, Muslim Waqf and Haj.

UP Governor Ram Naik has also given his assent to the distribution of portfolios in the state council of ministers.
