Commenting on speculations over Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) aligning with the Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Prakash Javadekar on Monday said that in a democratic country if someone wanted to commit political suicide, then no one could help them.
"In a democratic country, if someone wants to commit political suicide, then no one can help them. There is tremendous political turmoil in the country, with the Congress losing, and the BJP surging towards victory," said Javadekar.
"Everyone in the Telangana knows that the Congress has been betraying the people of the region for over 56 years," he said.
"Though, they had promised the passage of the bill long time ago, and kept it pending, they have finally passed it due to political compulsion. People are not going to forgive and forget the losses for which the Congress is responsible," he added.
KCR met Congress President Sonia Gandhi yesterday to express his gratitude for passing the Telangana Bill.
"I have met Sonia Gandhi to express my gratitude for the passage of the Telangana bill. All our family members have come to meet her," said Rao.
