Patel began her day by addressing people through the state government’s online public grievance forum “Swagat’. She heard as many as 42 complaints from people of different districts through video conferenceing. The new chief minister further advised the district level administrators to expedite the work and resolve the complaints received through the on-line forum at the earliest.
“We need to work in a pro-active manner and make sure that there is zero pendency,” Patel advised the district administrators during the meeting.

Later, in a meeting with officials of the agriculture department she finalised the progamme for 2014 edition of the ‘Krishi Mahotsav’ or Agriculture Fare which would begin from May 28. She will be inaugurating the month-long event that will be held in every district of the state from Morbi in Rajkot next week.
During this fare Patel will also launch an online portal of farmers ‘i-Kisan’ which will have all details related to farming, weather, fertilizer, crop cycle and other related topic which would benefit the farmers. A mobile application for the portal will also be launched during the same event. “This will connect technology and farming and benefit the farmers,” Patel said. The first woman chief minister of the state emphasised on the need to make this year’s agri fare women centric to encourage women farmers in the state. She also felt the need to increase the food grain storage capacity in the fields and use of modern technology in building such warehouses.
