"Andhra has got a good tradition of policing and security. As and when the division happens..How things should be beefed up and made stronger....How the institutions should be stronger that was the idea," Vijayakumar told reporters after emerging from the meeting with the chief secretary at the state Secretariat.
He said, during the three-day deliberations with top police officials of the state and the chief secretary, the panel discussed the overall law and order, naxal issue, coastal security and other issues.
"We have been generally coming to many people, many officers, many teams...We are taking their views, we have gathered inputs. The idea is to beef up security more, not to make it weaker," he added.
Asked if there was any specific discussion on the status of Hyderabad, the STF chief noted it was a general discussion.
He said the STF would submit its report to the MHA in two or three days after their return to New Delhi.
