Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday warned Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members of Parliament “to not fall prey to the tactics of the opposition, not to get provoked and make any provocative statements.”  At the weekly BJP Parliamentary Party meeting, Naidu also gave pointers to party MPs to defend the government on the issue of intolerance.

Naidu attributed the ban on foreign funding as a reason for intellectuals and others to come out on to the streets to protest against the so-called intolerance.

He said frustrated Leftist intellectuals were behind the “spurious” award-wapsi campaign. Naidu asked MPs “to be alert about the game plan of opposition (in trying to disrupt Parliamentary proceedings) and expose the disinformation campaign unleashed by opponents.”

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley explained the details of the GST tax code.
