Bihar polls: 20.61% polling till 10 am in second phase

Kaimur recorded a 16.68%, Rohtas- 21.14 %, Arwal - 20.79%, Jehanabad - 20.57%, Aurangabad- 20.15% and Gaya- 22%

Polling percentage of 20.61 was recorded until 10 am for the second phase of the Bihar Assembly polls that is underway in the state.

Kaimur recorded a 16.68%, Rohtas- 21.14 %, Arwal - 20.79%, Jehanabad - 20.57%, Aurangabad- 20.15% and Gaya- 22%.

The second phase of the Assembly polls began at 7 am today with the 32 constituencies going to poll in the six Maoist-hit districts.

Prime Minister Modi had tweeted earlier, urging people to exercise their voting rights.
 

Voting was affected in few districts as a faulty EVM delayed polling in Jehanabad and later a cane bomb was found in polling booth no. 144 near Rafiganj constituency in Aurangabad district.

Customary verbal volleys were tossed during the polling with political leaders predicting the outcome of the election in the state and exchanging receiving curt and quick rejoinders.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had tweeted earlier that according to his knowledge, his Bihar counterpart Nitish Kumar was leaving Prime Minister Modi in the dust in the elections.

"Lalu ji is hardly getting 200-250 people in his rally. The tweet of Kejriwal ji shows their hopelessness," BJP leader Manoj Tiwari told ANI.

The polling will end at 3 PM in 11 constituencies and at 4 PM at 12 others while it will end at 5 PM in the remaining nine constituencies.

A total of 86, 13,870 electors are expected to decide the fate of 456 candidates, 32 out of whom are women. There are 9,119 polling stations.
