The Bharatiya Janata Party and the Communist Party of India CPI(M) today held rallies demanding immediate action against the culprits of Saradha scam.

While BJP rally was by the intellectuals was a counter rally against that of Trinamool Congress held last week, most of the famous faces present in the rally were directly involved with the party. Journalist M J Akbar, magician P C Sorkar, actor Suman Bandhopadhya were some of the welll-known faces that were seen in the rally. " You don't see any party flags or posters here, this is a rally where people have participated out of their conscience," said P C Sorcar. Sorcar contested the Lok Sabha elections on a BJP ticket from the Barasat constituency.

Unlike the TMC rally of the intellectuals where most of the participants were clueless about the purpose of it, the BJP seemed to have been better prepared. " Saradha scam has destroyed thousands of families and the Chief Minister is hand in glove with it, we are here to protest for the victims," said M J Akbar. Akbar had also joined the party before the Lok Sabha polls.

Meanwhile the CPI(M) also held a protest march demanding arrest of the perpetrators in the Saradha scam which started from in front of the Victoria House , the same place where Amit Shah held a rally on Sunday. Leader of the opposition Surya Kanta Mishra said that the party has sent a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him for an appointment. " We want to meet the Prime Minister and request him to expedite the investigation in both Saradha and Bardhaaman case." Mishra said since there were allegations of money from the multi-crore scam being used in the Baradhaaman blast case it was necessary for a thorough and impartial investigation. " Since central agencies are in charge of both the investigations, Prime Minister is the right person who can smoothen this process," he said.
