The BJP worker, who belonged to a minority community, was killed allegedly by goons of the Trinamool Congress at Illambazar in Birbhum district, triggering protest and condemnation from all quarters of society.
Last week, a BJP central team, led by vice-presidents S S Ahluwalia and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, had visited Sandeshkhali in North 24-Parganas district where a number of party workers were injured in an attack allegedly by Trinamool Congress supporters. "This is the politics of bloodbath the Trinamool Congress is pursuing. A team of our central leadership led by our party's minority cell chief will visit Bengal within the next few days to assess the ground situation," senior BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh said.
He said that the team would submit a report to the party president and would request the National Minority Commission to take stock of the situation following repeated attacks on BJP workers across the state.
