BJP today demanded a immediate roll back in the prices of cooking gas, CNG and water tariff effected in Delhi, contending the policy decisions of Congress-supported AAP government in the national capital would give rise to inflation.

"The price hikes done by AAP government in Delhi and its alliance partner Congress will affect every household in the city. BJP wants immediate roll back of the increase in prices of water, cooking gas and CNG," BJP state president Vijay Goel said.

He said the "cruel hike of Rs 220 in non-subsidized LPG cylinder will further tighten the noose on especially the middle and lower income groups" who are grappling with skyrocketing prices of food grains and all other essential commodities.

"The Prime Minister himself has accepted that there are no jobs. In such a situation, it is not possible to make both ends meet," Goel said.

The hike in CNG will raise the cost of transport and the decision of 10 per cent increase in tariff for those consuming more than 20 kilo litres of water will affect middle class families, Goel said.

CNG price in the national capital was hiked recently by Rs 4.50 per kg, the second increase in rates in three months.

Terming "this as betrayal of the trust of people", Goel said both AAP and Congress today "stand exposed as none of them has even tried to roll back these hikes.
