Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, on Friday said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will give a tough fight to the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the Samajwadi Party (SP) in Uttar Pradesh (UP) assembly elections, due early in 2017.

"People are fed up with the BSP and the SP there. The BJP will give them tough fight," he told IANS.

The minister also said that the BJP is visible and acceptable in the state and will be one of the important parties in the UP assembly elections.

Naqvi said senior leaders of the party have already swung into action and no stone will be left unturned to do well in the UP polls.
