Accusing BJP of having elected an "infamous" Narendra Modi as its prime ministerial candidate, the Congress leader said that if the party had thought of winning the elections by spreading hatred, it was dreaming.
"The BJP has elected the infamous Modi as its PM candidate... But if they think that by spreading hatred they would assume power, then they are wrong... Then I would say that they are dreaming," the Coal Minister said while addressing party activists at Khalilabad here.

"In our country one can earn votes through development work, not by spreading hatred," he added.
Stating that the nation was passing through a phase similar to that in 1947-48, he said that attempts were being made to vitiate communal atmosphere.
Only Congress, Jaiswal claimed, would be able to keep divisive forces at bay.
