Continuing his no-holds barred attack on Rahul Gandhi, Narendra Modi today said the Bundelkhand package, a brainchild of the Congress Vice President, was actually a dole for Samajwadi Party to keep its leaders in good humour.

Modi, while addressing an election rally here, alleged that the funds of Bundelkhand package have been usurped.

"The Congress leaders are experts in giving packages and lollipops for keeping their detractors silent. This (Bundelkhand) package was given not for you but to ensure that leaders in UP remain silent. (Governments in) Delhi and Lucknow divided the package between them," he said.

"A lot has been said about package. Now the time has come to pack up and dispatch SP, BSP and Congress," Modi said.

The BJP's prime ministerial candidate said Bundelkhand region and its people were capable enough for their development, and if there is any lack of strength, it is among the policy makers in Delhi and Lucknow.

"Why is this region thirsty even though there are so many rivers here and why are farmers here committing suicide when there is so much of water", he said.

Modi said he takes immense pride in saying that the part of the Bundelkhand package given to Madhya Pradesh was used judiciously by the Shivraj Singh Chauhan government and the region has seen a good harvest.
