Party secretary-general Partha Chatterjee alleged that the BJP resorted to political vendetta in connivance with the CBI. "This is most unfortunate that an agency is busy with preparing a blueprint for such a conspiracy before all elections," he said.
Accusing the BJP of using the agency as a "political tool" just to take revenge, Chatterjee said that people must remember that such an attempt was made even before last panchayat election in the state. "Whenever any election comes, the BJP takes help of the CBI to resort to its revenge politics against us by destabilising the situation in the state," he said. Chatterjee said that party supporters would protest against the 'conspiracy' by the BJP unitedly all over the state. He, however, asked party workers and supporters not to resort to any bandh or blockade.
He asserted, "No political force can be able to finish or corner the TMC. Such conspiracy will rather strengthen the party organisation. BJP with the help of CBI can issue notice to one Mukul, but lakhs of people will protest against BJP's evil design to dislodge the TMC from state politics." Chatterjee also criticised BJP leader in charge of Bengal Siddharth Nath Singh for predicting that 2015 would be it known as "Bhag Mukul Bhag", wondering how he came to know this. "How did he come to know this? There must be a plan in connivance with the probe agency," he said.
