Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today accused the NDA government at the Centre of serving the interests of big industries and corporate houses. In a statement here, the Chief Minister said the Narendra Modi led NDA government has been serving all along the interests of industry bigwigs and corporate houses.

Gogoi said that he had predicted during the last Lok Sabha campaign that big corporates would run the government if Modi came to power.

Stating that his prediction turned out to be true, Gogoi said, "It is a kind of corporate rule from back door." "The Central government frames and formulates its policies to cater to the needs of the big industrial houses, rather than the poor people of the country", Gogoi said.

Asserting that the Central government wanted to amend the Land Acquisition Bill at the behest of the corporates, he said, "This is a pro-corporate government. Such type of dispensation is a threat to democracy."
