Attacking its own coalition government in the state, Congress today said halt of work of various development projects has resulted in bad condition of roads in Jammu.

"Work on various development projects has been abandoned, resulting in bad condition of roads and link roads in the area," former minister and Vice-President J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Mula Ram said today.

Ram, who undertook an extensive tour of Raipur Doman constituency in Jammu, called for an immediate attention to the bad road conditions.

Senior Congress leader and Doda MLA Abdul Majid Wani is the Roads and Buildings Minister in the Omar Abdullah-led Congress-NC government.

Main roads and link roads in Jammu have been ploughed by several government agencies and some private telecom operators to lay sewerage pipes, cables and carry out other underground works, leading to bad condition of roads ahead of the monsoon, Ram said.

A delegation of Congress workers led by JKPCC General Secretary Vinod Sharma met Wani and apprised him about the bad condition of roads in Jammu city.

Mula Ram also said that there is an acute shortage of electricity, drinking water and ration supply in the Kandi belt of Raipur Domana and the government should immediately address these problems.
