After Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh chief ministers, the Congress is now demanding the resignation of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh for his alleged role in the Rs 54 crore scam in the Indira Priyadarshini Mahila Nagrik Sahkari co-operative bank.

Congress communication chief Randeep Surjewala on Saturday stated that after Raman Singh's name surfaced in the PDS scam, this is the second time that the minister himself has been directly named and must be booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Surjewala urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to live up to his election promises of zero tolerance for corruption and sack the CM without any delay. He also demanded an SIT probe monitored by the Supreme Court. The Congress has asserted that the party would be raising the issue in Parliament.
