Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today claimed that Congress would face a "vote drought" in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls and electorates would not spare its UPA government for all the wrongdoings.

"At the national political stage colossal debacle is waiting to meet the Congress-led UPA Government, which would be assured with the confirmation of Rahul Gandhi's as its Prime Ministerial candidate," he said.

Presiding over a state-level Christmas function here at the Government College Stadium organised by the All-India Christian Dalit Front and Punjab Minorities Commission, Sukhbir said that electorates would wipe out the Congress-led UPA Government for its decade-long misdoings.

He also criticised Congress' move to project Rahul Gandhi as its prime ministerial candidate and ridiculed the Gandhi scion's role in the recently concluded Assembly polls.

Sukhbir went on saying that in comparison to BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Rahul does not know the basics of politics, administration and development.

He rubbished the PPCC's allegation that the state is poorly placed in comparison to others and said that the SAD-BJP government's sole agenda was development and they were committed to develop Punjab as the No. 1 state in the country.

He said that the SAD-BJP government never indulged itself into negative politics like Congress and strongly stand on its ultimate goal of development.
