Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, that the people of Delhi have the might of tsunami against a wave.
Uddhav and his son Aditya called up Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal to congratulate him for the party’s performance in the Delhi Assembly polls.
The Sena is a junior partner in the BJP-led government in Maharashtra. Thackeray is annoyed by the treatment meted out to his party by the BJP.
Uddhav said, “Delhi tsunami is bigger than the Modi wave.'' He was referring to "The Modi Wave'' used by the BJP to project the Prime Minister's popularity in the run up to the general election.
Further, Uddhav declared that, "If I get invitation for oath ceremony, I will go and attend it."
Uddhav took a pause and said he shared anti-corruption activist Anna Hazare’s view that it was Modi’s defeat and not Kiran Bedi’s. ''Do not take voters for granted,'' he noted.
However, Uddhav was rebutted by BJP's Mumbai unit chief Ashish Shelar who said , "If Shiv Sena does not believe in Modi's leadership then they leave the government and then comment.''
