He announced the party's decision after DMK's District Secretaries meeting at Chennai. He also said the Supreme Court had twice held that DMK has the right to implead in the case.
As a result DMK party will also appeal against the High Court's order in the disproportionate assets case against Jayalalithaa.
Last year, a trial court convicted Jayalalithaa with a four-year jail term and Rs 100-crore fine, but the Karnataka High Court accepted Jayalalithaa's appeal and acquitted her of all charges.
He noted Special Public Prosecutor B V Acharya and Karnataka's Advocate General Ravivarma Kumar have advised the Kartnataka Government to go on appeal and the original petitioner, in this case, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy also said that he would go on appeal in the Supreme Court.
