Ensure victory of SP nominees in their areas: Mulayam tells ministers

The SP chief advised the ministers to remain in their areas, hear grievances of the people and remain connected with them

Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav today asked all ministers in the Akhilesh Yadav government to ensure victory of party candidates in upcoming Lok Sabha polls in their respective areas.

At a closed-door meeting here, he warned them if the party candidates lose in their areas, they would have to face the consequences, SP sources said.

Mulayam also directed them to shun differences, if any, and remain united, they said.

"Netaji (Mulayam) has fixed a target of winning 60 Lok Sabha seats (out of 80). We will ensure that these number of seats are won," minister S P Yadav told reporters.

The SP chief advised the ministers to remain in their areas, hear grievances of the people and remain connected with them.

Chief Minister and UP party head Akhilesh Yadav was also present at the meeting.
