After his reported controversial remark on Indian Mujahideen, Union Minority Affairs Minister K Rahman Khan today said it was not his view that the Muslim community did not believe in the existence of IM, but it was a general perception.

'I have no opinion. I have not said that, who said that. There is a perception (among Muslims that IM does not exist),' he told reporters at his residence here.

'The popular perception of Muslims is who is heading IM; what is it. They have doubt what IM is and everything related to it. That is what the Muslims feel and that is what people come and tell me,' he said.

Khan was reported to have said in an interview to a national daily that the Muslim community does not believe that IM exists in the country.

On BJP's charge that the Congress was using the IM card for political mileage in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, he said he would not comment on it.

Khan also said 'There are misguided youths in every section of the society. Some incidents (like Babri Masjid demolition and Gujarat riots) take place and there is anger,' in an oblique reference to Hindu fundamentalists.
